The AAP government has decided to promote Hindi and other regional languages among the masses by extending financial assistance for opening up of literary clubs in the national capital.
The government's art, culture and languages department, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, has proposed to constitute 'Sahitya Charcha Clubs' across the city for promotion of literature.
An official in the deputy CM's office said, "at these clubs, people could gather and discuss the text and prose produced by Hindi litterateurs".

"The youth, elderly and children will be encouraged to form clubs to organise literary programmes. Government will extend financial help to such moves," the official said.
The push to promote literature among the masses will begin with Hindi and later, literature from other regional languages will be similarly promoted.
"Literature is believed to give a right direction to the society by developing the feeling of harmony and unity. It is believed that promotion of literature among the common people will also further a positive outlook," added the official.
