SAI DG Jiji Thomson repatriated to Kerala cadre

Director General of Sports Authority of India Jiji Thomson has been repatriated to his parent cadre--Kerala as he is likely to be appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the state.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved premature repatriation of Jiji Thomson to his cadre state Kerala, an order issued in this regard said.

Thomson, a 1980 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, is presently working as Director General, Sports Authority of India under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

"He is likely to become new Chief Secretary of Kerala," official sources said.

In another order, Senior IAS officer J S Deepak was today given additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director, India Trade Promotion Organisation.
 

Deepak, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is presently working as Additional Secretary in Department of Commerce.

He has been given the charge of the post of CMD, ITPO for a period of three months, beginning tomorrow, said an order issued today by DoPT.

ITPO is country's premier trade promotion agency under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The post fell vacant following retirement of incumbent Rita Menon today.
