An employee of Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust here was caught allegedly stealing gold and silver ornaments from the trust's counting hall, police said today.
During a check yesterday, the Sansthan's security guard found Dinkar Hanumant Dokhe (58) allegedly in possession of one gm gold coin, a 3 gm gold ornament and 36 gm of silver ornaments worth about Rs 12,000 while he was coming out from the counting hall where donations are kept, sub-inspector Sandeep Kahale said.
Dokhe, who works in the trust's Sainath hospital, was arrested late last night following a complaint by the Saibaba trust and an offence was registered against him under section 379 (theft) of IPC, he said.
Meanwhile, the Saibaba trust has suspended Dokhe following the incident, its deputy executive officer Appasaheb Shinde said.
