Sailors Upamanyu-Hussein clinch 420 Class title

National champions Upamanyu Dutta and Hussein Arsiwala today clinched the 420 Class title, winning six out of the nine races and finishing second in the other three to tally 10 points in the Festival of Sails being held in the waters off the Gateway of India here.

Upamanyu's younger brother Aryaman and crew Xerxes Bamboat finished in second spot with 15 points, while the all- girl team of Diya Correa and Zara Arsiwala was third with 21.

The sailors were given one point for a win, two points for second place and three points for third.

In the 470 Class, Chandra Shekhar and S R Rout totalled 14 points to win the title, followed by Pawan Kumar and Sukhen Sur with 18 and Atul Lande and Mahesh Yadav with 23.
 

The Match Racing Championship was won by Ayaz Shaikh, Sandip Jain, Nijeesh Bhaskar and Kiran Kumar.

The results:

420 Class: 1. Upamanyu Dutta-Hussein Arsiwalla 10 points; 2. Aryaman Dutta-Xerxes Bamboat 15; 3. Diya Correa-Zara Arsiwalla 21.

470 Class: 1. Chandra Shekhar- S R Rout 14 points; 2. Pawan Kumar-Sukhen Sur 18; 3. Atul Lande-Mahesh Yadav 23.

Match Racing: 1. Ayaz Shaikh, Sandip Jain, Nijeesh Bhaskar and Kiran Kumar; 2. Atool Sinha, Samal Pradhan, Rahul Rai, Praveen Kumar.
