Saina slides to eighth, Sindhu remains unchanged at nine

Struggling badminton player Saina Nehwal today lost a place to be eighth in the world rankings while her compatriot P V Sindhu managed to retain her ninth spot in the latest chart, issued by Badminton World Federation.

Saina, the Olympic bronze medallist, has been enduring a a poor run of form of late. Last week she was ousted in quarterfinals the All England Championship.

This week she is competing in Swiss Open at Basel.

Sindu, who today advanced to the quarterfinals of Swiss Open, was unchanged at number nine.

In the men's singles ranking, Parupalli Kashyap retained the 14th position while Ajay Jayaram gained one place to be 24th.
