Sales of curd more than trebles: AAVIN

: Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers Federation Limited, popularly known as AAVIN, today said the sales of curd has more than trebled over the last one month owing to huge demand.

"Sales of AAVIN Curd has reached the level of 5,000 packets per day", a press release said.

AAVIN on an average sells about 1,500 litres of curd in Chennai in the form of 200 ml sachets every day.

Last month, Dairy Development Minister K T Rajendhra Balaji unvieled half kilo curd packets priced at Rs 25 to boost sales.

AAVIN engaged in sales of milk and milk products retails Rs 18 crore of business every month, it said.
 

Meanwhile, as part of extending the sales of milk and ice cream products in Ambattur and neighbouring areas, the Minister flagged off three refrigerated vehicles costing Rs 87 lakh at a function today, the release added.
