Salesman dies of attack by unidentified persons

A 37-year old salesman of the Tamil Nadu Government owned liquor shop, who was attacked by unidentified persons, died today at the government hospital here, police said.

The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) salesman, Kumar was returning from Mallur to his village Chinnaseeragapadi lastnight by his motorcycle, after closing the shop. Two unidentified persons who followed his vehicle attacked him near Attayampatti with lethal weapons and escaped in the cover of darkness.

Villagers who came to his rescue on hearing his screams, informed the police.

He was rushed to the hospital where he died of head injuries suffered during the attack, in the noon today, they said.
 

On a complaint by his wife a search is on for the attackers.
