Salgaocar football club has completed its foreign quota by singing explosive French striker Claude Gnoakpa.

France-born Claude has come up through the Montpellier Youth ranks and has experience of playing in France, Scotland, Spain, England and Iraq. Claude's arrival will certainly give Salgaocar FC the much needed cutting edge upfront.

Claude has been training with Salgaocar for five days now and said he has heard good things about Salgaocar from players.

"The boys are good, and have welcomed me warmly. We have a lot of laughs and generally a good time," he said.

When asked for his opinion about the other foreign players in the team, he said, "Chika (Wali) is a good guy, very involved. I've not met (Seiji) Seito but I've heard he's a good player, delivers good passes and is good with the ball, which is important since I'm a striker. As for Darryl (Duffy), he's great and we will gel really well. I hope to play alongside him."

Coach Derrick Pereira was eager to see how Claude combined with Duffy upfront and held that he was the sort of player they were looking for.

"We are glad to have him on our side and his ability to break through defence will certainly boost our strike force," Pereira added.
