Megastar Amitabh Bachchan today said film writers have started getting their dues in the film industry now and its credit goes to noted script writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.
"Salim saab (Salim Khan) and Javed saab (Javed Akhtar) in many ways are the initiators in recognising the worth of writers. In early years, when they started writing they felt the need to promote the writers as well in poster, which was not available," Bachchan told reporters here at the promotional event of "Te3n".
"It was initiated by them (Salim-Javed). They went out and made their own sign and posted it on posters to prove that writers are important in a project. After that, writers have been given prominence. I am happy that writers are getting awards. In recent national awards, Juhi Chaturvedi got award for "Piku" and I was very delighted," he added.

"Writer is not just writing the story, he is also acting it, designing the set, location, how a character should dress, behave all these are important tools. We are just people who come and recite these lines," he added.
For Big B, both the writers and director are the most important people.
"It is the combination of the writer and the director that brings out the final product and therefore they are really important," he adds.
Often, writers have claimed to be not getting their due as far as money is concerned.
Talking about this, the megastar says "I can't talk about the commerce because it is between the writer and the director and the production people. I will be very happy to see them (writers) rise commercially."
Bachchan will be seen next in "Te3n" alongside Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
