Noted lyricist Salim Khan has hailed the Bombay High Court's verdict of allowing women into the sanctum sanctorum of the Haji Ali Dargah here, saying the judgement "endorses what Hadees and Quran say."
In a landmark judgement yesterday, the HC lifted the ban imposed on women from entering the Dargah, saying it contravenes fundamental rights and that the trust has no right to prohibit women's entry into a public place of worship.
Salim, 80, took to Twitter, writing, "High court judgement on Haji Ali endorses what Hadees and Quran have said. To be a good muslim you have to be a good human being."
