Salma Hayek's daughter Valentina is truly getting into the giving spirit of the holidays by growing out her hair to donate to a cancer charity.

The "Frida" actress and humanitarian has passed on her philanthropic values to young Valentina, and the child is doing what she can to help others in need with a very personal donation.

"My daughter valentina (sic) is growing her beautiful mane so she can cut it and donate it to make a wig for children with cancer. Now that is the spirit of christmas (sic)," Hayek wrote on Instagram.

The movie beauty has long supported organisations aiding battered women and disadvantaged youths through her Salma Hayek Foundation, and in October she was recognised as the co-founder of women's rights initiative Chime for Change at the Variety Power of Women event in Hollywood.

Valentina is Salma's only child with husband Francois-Henri Pinault.
