Four-time Grammy-winning singer Sam Smith has rescheduled his cancelled Australia tour after recovering from a throat surgery.

The British soulman had ended the April tour early, when it transpired that he had suffered a hemorrhage to his vocal cords, reported Aceshowbiz.

The 23-year-old singer will perform in Australia starting November 28 at Perth Arena before visiting Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in early December, the promoter Frontier Touring announced.

"Australia, I am so so happy to finally have some good news for you... I can now announce that my cancelled IN THE LONELY HOUR tour dates have been rescheduled!!," Smith said in a statement.

The "Stay With Me" singer said he was excited to perform again and promissed it will be better than before.

"The past few months have been incredibly difficult, but the support, love and patience my fans have shown me is absolutely unreal. I am so grateful to every one of you. I can't wait to see you all," he said.

The British artist underwent surgery in the US last month to correct his throat condition, which is a common ailment in singers.

The medical team at Massachusetts General Hospital explained that his problem was "the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture and prevent vocal performance.
