83 Sambar antlers were seized and two persons transporting the deer horns in a vehicle in Bargarh district were arrested, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a check on the Dungri-Ambahona road and intercepted the vehicle in which the horns were being transported yesterday, Superintendent of Police Ashis Singh said.
During the search, police recovered 83 Sambar horns from the vehicle. Two persons taking the horns to sell them were arrested, he said.

Earlier, Bargarh police had seized 21 pieces of Sambar horns on July 12 and arrested four persons after intercepting a van on the Bargah-Bhatli road.
The forest department personnel had also seized ten Sambar horns from Khola and arrested four persons on July 13, officials said.
