South Korean electronics major Samsung has launched Galaxy S9 and S9+ here to strengthen its position in the high-end smartphone segment.
Sources said the company will launch both the handsets in India next month, competing with iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 Series.
Both Galaxy S9 and S9+ will have enhanced imaging and video experience with dual apertures and features such as super slo-mo video capability and low light camera.

Besides, Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be the first smartphones to support the new Smart Thing app and act like a central hub to manage the connected Samsung and Non Samsung devices at home and working places.
Samsung Electronics president and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division DJ Koh said: "With the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we have reimagined the smartphone camera.
"Not only do the Galaxy S9 and S9+ enable consumers to shoot great photos and videos anywhere, its a smartphone that is designed to help them connect to others and express themselves in a way that is unique and personal to them.
The company has not yet officially declared the prices, but has started the advance booking on Amazon. It will be available in the markets by March 16, 2018, the company said.
Both the phones will operate on Android 8 (Orio) and come in four colours -- Midnight black, Titanium gray, Coral blue and lilac purple.
Galaxy S9, with 5.8 inch screen would have 4GB RAM and have options of internal memory of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
While Galaxy S9+, which has 6.2 inch screen, comes with 6GB RAM and would also have memory options of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
Besides, both the devices supports an expandable memory of upto 400 GB with a micro SD card, said Samsung in the statement.
Galaxy S9 has a 3,000 mAh battery while S9+ has 3,500 mAh battery.
Both of them are compatible with wireless charging and have biometric authentications such as Iris scanner, finger print scanner and face recognition scans.
It has shifted the fingerprint scanner and has placed vertically below the camera module.
Both the phones have a front camera of 8 mega pixels and rear camera of 12 mega pixels, and stereo speakers tuned by AKG and support Dolby ATMOS with 360-degree stereo sound.
Samsung has also incorporated other advance features such as built in live automatic translator in its camera app, which could translate over 50 languages.
It has several Indian languages including Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telgu and Punjabi in its live translator camera app.
