Acting on a tip-off, customs officials and local police stopped a potato-laden truck at Ghoshpukur area here last night and recovered the booty from beneath the sacks, sources said.
The truck, coming from Andhra Pradesh was proceeding to Nepal from where it would cross over to Myanmar, customs officials said.
The owner of the truck, who was at the wheel, was arrested and the truck impounded, sources said.
The arrested was produced in the SDJM Siliguri court today and remanded to seven days police custody.
