Saran, along with IG BSF, Tripura Frontier, P C Meena, visited Anandapara in Border town Sabroom where a joint survey for construction of the bridge is on. He also visited the site of Sabroom Land Custom Station (LCS).
"Bangladesh government is also interested that the border trade through Sabroom begins at the earliest and the bridge is constructed soon. I think the now defunct LCS would start functioning within three months and the bridge would be constructed soon to give a boost to the border trade," Saran told reporters at Sabroom.
The Chittagong port is just 75 kms from Sabroom.
Saran came here yesterday to review trade related issues between India and Bangladesh and met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Trade and Commerce Minister Jitendra Chowdhury.
The high commissioner, who would leave for Dhaka tomorrow, also visited the Akhaura LCS here.
