Sumit Lucas Toppo (Performance Racing) also gained a double in Group C Open 165cc category with ease. However, the final events witnessed frequent crashes and in one incident Krishnan Rajini, India's top rider, had to opt out. Rajini had won five successive wins to his credit and was the favourite to win his sixth title.
20-year-old Chennai boy, Sarath Kumar, who had won the first race in the Honda CBR 250 open class, proved himself in great measure to annex the second title.
Arun Muthukrishnan, a private entry, in the Group D 165cc Novice class and K Jagan of TVS Racing, also won both their races in the Group B Open (165cc) that had just five riders.
