Saria prices sup on stockists buying

Saria prices rose by Rs 200 per tonne at the steel market on the account of buying by stockists.

Traders said emergence of buying by stockists following pick up in construction activity amid the government's decision to impose a MIP on 173 steel products influenced the sentiment.

On Friday, in a relief to domestic steel producers against cheap in-bound shipments, the government imposed a minimum import price (MIP) on 173 steel products ranging between USD 341 and USD 752 per tonne.

In the national capital, Kamdhenu 8-mm,10-mm and 12-mm were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 37,400, Rs 35,600 and Rs 35,000 per tonne respectively. Similarly, saria 16-25-mm traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 35,000 per tonne.
