A village sarpanch was nabbed by Lokayukta sleuths in Indore district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a villager by threatening to demolish a portion of his house, an official said today.

The accused, identified as Vinod Chouhan (27), had allegedly threatened the complainant that he would get a portion of his house classified as an illegal construction and get it razed, said Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Praveen Baghel.

After the complainant approached the Lokayukta Police, a trap was laid and Chouhan was caught while taking money from a barber shop.

He was booked under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
