Sasikumar Mukund has it easy

Second-seed Sasikumar Mukund of India beat qualifier Vijayant Malik 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the second round of the singles event in Justice P S Kailasam ITF Men's Futures Tennis Championship 2017 here today.

Top-seed Sumit Nagal lost the first set against Jui-Chen Hung of Taipei 3-6 and was on the verge of an exit, trailing 2-5 before bad light halted play.

Hung played consistent tennis while Nagal's shoulder injury seemed to be playing up again.

However, third-seed Karunuday Singh bowed out, losing 2-6, 6-7 to Korea's Tae-Woo Lee in the opening round.

The No.6 seed Haadin Bava got the better of National Junior Champion, Dhakshineswar Suresh, 6-4, 7-6.
 

In other matches, Arjun Khade, a wild card entrant, got past the hard hitting Arayan Goveas 6-4, 6-4, while qualifier Kaza Vinayak Sharma did well to edge out Yu Tsiang Chiu of Taipei in two sets.
