Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik was today sworn-in as the govenor of Odisha here.
Malik was administered oath of the office and secrecy by Orissa High Court Chief Justice Vineet Saran at the Raj Bhavan here in presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other dignitaries.
Malik succeeds S C Jamir, who retired as Odisha governor yesterday.
He has been given additional responsibility of Odisha until regular arrangements are made.
Earlier in the day, Malik was received by the chief minister, the chief secretary and the director general of police at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here.
Malik, a former MP and former BJP national vice-president, was the Bihar governor on September 30, 2017.
Jamir, who was Nagaland chief minister for five terms, had taken over as Odisha governor in March 2013.
