'Save Villages Campaign' urge CM to focus on rural development

Maintaining that much focus was accorded towards urban development, the organisations involved in Gaon Bachao Andolan (Save Villages Campaign) have urged Chief Minister Harish Rawat to provide better facilities to rural areas.

Padmashree Dr Anil Joshi, who heads the save village drive, along with other social service organisations, met the CM yesterday and put forth their demands.

"It was brought to CM's notice that urban areas were getting much attention, but villages lacking basic infrastructure were ignored. To save rural area, we need to equip it will all facilities, Joshi said.

"We urged Rawal to take a stock of the progress in 15 years of its inception," he added.
