With Brazil's thumping 3-1 victory over Croatia in the World Cup inaugural match, a fusion Bengali dish named after the nimbled footed Neymar is all set to tickle the taste buds of the football crazy Kolkatans.
In the world cup food festival, where the interiors will be decked up as a large stadium with an LED on wall, international footballers doing duty for city giants are being brought to unveil the 'Nimble as Neymar' cuisine - meat preparation garnished with spices from Latin America.
Footballer-entrepreneur Chirag Paul, who hopes to rope in friend-Brazillian soccer-stars having done duty for Kolkata clubs, and familiar with city's culinary tastes, to sample the fare.
"This being the offseason I may ask some local football stars as well, Chirag, said.
"Retaining the quaint Bengaliness of the food, I am happy the way they have infused the world cup flavor by introducing sauce and spices from football playing European and Latin American countries - Germany, Holland to Spain and Brazil," Chirag, now the head of an exclusive Bengali speciality restaurant 'Koshe Kasha', said.
"While savouring 'Rendezvous with Rooney', 'Rio Rocker', 'Cristiano Crusher', besides 'Nimble as Neymar,' in the company of present day Indian footballers, the foodie can don yellow, orange or any other available jersey of his favourite team and watch the game on telly in evening and late night hours," the chef of Koshe Kasha said.
