Sawarn, Bajrang named in Indian squad for Asian Rowing C'ships

Sculler Sawarn Singh Virk will lead a 22-member Indian contingent for the 15th Senior Asian Rowing Championships at Luan, China from September 22 to 29.

Bajrang Lal Takhar, who won the first individual rowing gold medal for India at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, has also been named in the squad which will depart from Hyderabad on September 21.

Ismail Baig, R P Shelke, Amit Singh and Babu John from the Army will accompany the team as coaches.

Squad: Sawarn Singh, Sonu Laxmi Naraian, Shokendar Tomar, Rakesh Raloya, Dushyant, Deepak Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Kapil Sharma, Mohammed Azad, Davinder Singh, Maninder Singh, Anil Kumar, Robin P U, Bajrang Lal Thakar,Ranjit Singh, Mohammed Ahmed, Mandeep Singh, Gurinder Singh, M Amusana Devi, Th Chaoba Devi, Kh Monalisha Chanu, Dittymol Varghese.
