SBG Cleantech Energy lowest bidder at solar auction by GUVNL

SBG Cleantech Energy, a joint venture of SoftBank, Bharti Enterprises and Foxconn Technologies, emerged as the lowest bidder in an auction of solar power capacities by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) on Friday, a source said.

The JV quoted the lowest tariff of Rs 2.84 per unit for 250 MW grid-connected solar power capacity to be installed at Raghanesda Solar Park (Phase-III).

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) conducted auction for a total solar capacity of 700MW.

Among other bidders, Fortum Solar Plus Private Ltd quoted Rs 2.89 per unit for 250 MW while Electro Solaire Private Ltd place a bid of Rs 2.89 per unit for 250 MW capacity.

 

"A joint venture between SoftBank, Bharti Enterprises and Foxconn Technology, SBG Cleantech Energy is the lowest bidder under an auction capacities totalling 700 MW at Raghanesda Solar Park (Phase-III) by the GUVNL on Friday", a source said.

The government has set a target for installing 175 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022, which includes 100 GW from solar, 60 GW from wind, 10 GW from biomass and 5 GW from small hydro power.
