SBI Chairperson settles death claim of slain Lt Commander

State Bank of India (SBI) chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya today settled the death claim of Lieutenant Commander Manoranjan Kumar, who made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation on February 26.

The SBI chief handed over a cheque of Rs 20.91 lakh to Manoranjan's father Navin Kumar at a simple function organized

Kumar, a customer of SBI, Jamshedpur main branch here, had availed a housing loan of Rs 20.70 lakh on June 14 under 'Rin Raksha' policy of SBI Life.

A young and dynamic officer of Indian Navy, Kumar had died at the age of 26 years while serving on board INS Sindhuratna submarine on February 26 last.
 

SBI has promptly settled his death claim and Bhattacharya, who was in the steel city here today take part in a function of SBI as well as the 58th annual convocation of XLRI school of Management.
