Country's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) today launched an enterprise wide loyalty programme for its customers for doing various types of banking transactions.

"This enterprise wide programme is to say a big thank you to our customers. Through this initiative, we envision to strengthen relationship with our customers by recognising their continued faith and long-term association with us through various channels," the bank's chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya said.

Under the programme -- State Bank Rewardz -- customers will be incentivised for carrying out transactions across all major channels such as debit cards, personal banking, alternate channels like Internet banking and mobile banking, green channels, home loans and small and medium enterprises.

"There will be lot of points that will be given merely for a customer acting responsibly with us," Bhattacharya said.

Customers will get reward points for activities such as opening online savings account with proper KYC and minimum lending, timely payment of home loan EMI, timely repayment of agri loans and opening Demat paid accounts, among others.

Every 100 reward points will be equivalent to Rs 25.

Enrollment in this programme is absolutely free for customers and they will be enrolled automatically into this programme as soon as they start using at least one of the services that offer points.

The bank has tied up with around 8,000 merchant outlets and major online merchants, where customers can redeem their points.

It has also introduced a mobile app -- State Bank Rewardz -- which customers can download from Google Play Store and view the points to his credit and redeem the points at his convenience.
