SBT Kerala, Mahilpur FC Punjab enters quarterfinal

State Bank of Travancore (SBT), Kerala and Mahilpur football club (Punjab) today entered the quarterfinals of the 4th ALL India Football Tournament for 'Bihar Cup' here today.

SBT defeated United Kuarsiong Football Club (UKFC) 3-0 while Mahilpur Football club (Punjab) blanked Junior Army football club (Lucknow) by the same margin held at the Moin-ul-Haq stadium.

In the first match of the day, SBT, Kerala dominated the game from the beginning and took 1-0 lead through Mohammad Aslam (Senior) in the 21st minute when his powerful right footer found the target.

United KFC got few chances but their forward line failed to convert it into the goal. First half ended 1-0.
 

Mohammad Aslam (Jr) scored a solo goal after dogging past two defenders to increase the margin (2-0) in the 70th minute for SBT while Saheer completed the tally in the 80th minute after receiving a cross pass from Sumesh.

In the second match, Mahilpur FC Punjab took lead in the 25th minute through Mandeep Singh, his long range right footer found the target.

First half ended at 1-0.

Trailing behind by one goal Army FC team combined together and made some good moves, created goal opportunity but frontliner Brajesh Rawat, Michkel joshep, Mani Toppo B K Chettri squandered numerous goal scoring opportunities.

Narender Singh made it 2-0 in the 65th minute getting a cross pass from Sukhprit Singh while Paramjit Singh seal the fate in the 76th minute (3-0) with nice header.

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Siliguri will clash with Aryans Club (Kolkata) in the first quarter final match here tomorrow.
