All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations led by an MP from ruling BJP today staged protests seeking formation of National Judicial Appointment Commission (NJAC) and reservation for the communities in private sector and promotions.
"NJAC should be there. We want government to amend Constitution to form NJAC. Judges should not have role in appointment of judges but public representatives," the leader said.
Raj, a Lok Sabha MP from Delhi, demanded Centre to bring a legislation during the ongoing Parliament session itself to provide reservation to employees from SC/ST communities in promotions as he expressed concerns over Uttar Pradesh government allegedly demoting "lakhs of employees from communities".

He also demanded initiating impeachment procedure against Gujarat High Court judge J B Pardiwala, who recently observed that reservation and corruption had destroyed the country.
While passing an order in a legal case involving Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel nearly a week ago, Pardiwala had said, "If I am asked by anyone to name two things which have destroyed this country or rather has not allowed the country to progress in the right direction, then the same is reservation and corruption."
Raj also maintained the federation will have no option but to stage protests if its demands go unheard.
Today's rally was attended by scores of members of the federation from parts of the country.
