Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes Cooperative Finance Corporation Managing Director GSRKR Vijay Kumar today said value asset creation for social and economic development of the SC community is being done through land purchase scheme in the state.
"These land would be given to landless agricultural labourers, especially to women. Labourers who do not have access to irrigation facilities, they would be covered under this scheme," he said.
Kumar was speaking as chief guest at programme, Stree Sakthi Sammalen for SC women at Thurangi near Kakainda.
He said the land purchase scheme for SCs is for value asset creation, while irrigation facility through bores, motors and power supply would also be provided to them.
On the occasion, he suggested that women get associated with self help groups (SHGs) for getting benefit of the corporation schemes as all the programs would be extended through SHGs only.
"Efforts have been made to provide individualloans and subsidyfor SCs for business, entrepreneurship up to one crorein the future," he added.
He urged women to become educated and literate other women as well to achieve social and economic development and to overcome problems like ill health, malnutrition of children etc.
