Scarlett Johansson set to make her directorial debut

Actress Scarlett Johansson is set to make her directorial debut with the film adaptation of Truman Capote's unpublished novel 'Summer Crossing'.

The film is based on the life of a 17-year-old who decides

to pursue romance with a Jewish valet parking attendant instead of travelling through Paris during a 1945 summer heat wave in New York, reported Variety.

The author of the book had trashed the manuscript. It was salvaged after a janitor in his building discovered it. The pages resurfaced in a 2004 auction and was later published.

"Sin City 2" producer Oleg Boyko will finance along with Aldamisa.
 

Peter D Graves will be the executive producer. The production of the film is scheduled to start in the first half of 2013.
