Parts of Punjab and Haryana today received scattered rainfall which drove up humidity levels across the two neighbouring states to cause considerable discomfort to the people.
While the Union Territory of Chandigarh received 9mm rainfall, showers in Haryana's Ambala measured 6.4mm, the MeT office said here. Hisar received 0.2mm rainfall.
In Punjab, rainfall at Ludhiana was measured at 0.3mm.

Meanwhile, humidity levels in the region ranged between 85 to 100 per cent in what was a sweaty day for then people.
Day temperatures remained above the normal in the two states. The maximum hovered between one to four degrees Celsius above normal levels.
Hisar recorded a high of 38 degrees while in Punjab, Patiala had a high of 37.2 degrees followed by Amritsar at 36.6 degrees.
The maximum at Chandigarh was 35.5 degrees, two notches above normal.
The weather office has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall at a few places in Haryana and over many areas in Punjab in the coming 24 hours.
