Scattered rains in parts of Delhi bring down temperature

Scattered rains in parts of Delhi, which was reeling under hot and humid conditions, brought down the mercury almost by four notches.

City received 4.4 mm rains in the evening, bringing down the temperature from 37.2 to 33.4 degrees Celsius, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

More rains are expected in the next 24 hours with the weather department predicting a generally cloudy sky accompanied by rain and thundershowers.

Before rains, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.2 deg C, which was three notches above normal and only traces of rain were recorded.

The minimum temperature was also one notch above normal at 28.2 deg C.
 

The humidity level was 87 per cent.

The maximum and the minimum temperatures tomorrow are expected to fall and settle at around 35 and 27 deg C respectively.
