Schneider Electric puts energy in retail stretegy

Global energy management leader Schneider Electric is channelising its vigour into retail electrical or low-voltage electrical products for a sizeable presence in the Rs 5000 crore market.

"We gave taken several initiatives in the low-voltage electrical product segment which is estimated at Rs 5000 crore," Schneider Electric India regional head east Ramesh Jha said said here today without disclosing it's present marketshare.

Since June, the company has put eight mobile vans to campaign across the country covering 100 cities for deeper engagement with touch and feel of electric final distribution and wiring products for retail customers and electricians, he said.
 

Besides, the company is also expanding retail touch points and will continue to expand the reach aggressively, the company said.

In the east, the retail market is pegged at Rs 500 crore.

Schneider claimed to have five sub-brands to cater all the segments of the low voltage products but it is planning to introduce another range.

According to reports the new range in the infrared touch switches with remote control facility.

Speaking about Goods and Services Tax Jha said in West Bengal the 28 per cent slab under GST does not impact much as combined taxation is about 26 per cent.

But taking into account the nationwide situation a price rise is not ruled out and the air would get over the next few days, officials said.
