A boy was today killed and nine other students were injured when a school bus carrying them turned turtle while negotiating a turn near Mallah Mor in Pinjore, Haryana, police said.
The accident occurred when the bus driver of a private school tried to avoid a collision with an autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction, Panchkula's Deputy Commissioner S S Phulia said.
The seriously injured Class VI boy died while being rushed to PGIMER after the mishap.
The other students were undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
Phulia said that he had rushed the area Sub Divisional Magistrate to the spot to ensure that the injured students get the best medical treatment and other assistance they may require.
