The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Planning and Development) Vijay Prakash told reporters.
The state government approved the proposal to transfer the landed property, including a house spread over 5937 sq ft, in Rukunpura locality to the social welfare department to set up a special school for disabled children, he said.
A vigilance court had earlier this year ordered confiscation of the property of the 'tainted' former top cop after finding him guilty of amassing various assets beyond his known sources of income.
Mishra had challenged the vigilance court's order in the Patna high court, but his petition was rejected.
On the time-frame for setting up the special school for disabled children, Prakash said it was for the social welfare department to work out the details.
