A headmaster and clerk of a government aided school at Rayte from Kalyan taluka, who allegedly demanded and accepted bribe from a student's father were arrested by the Thane unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), it was officially announced here today.
ACB DYSP Sanjay Mohite said in an ACB release that headmaster Gorakh Mali and clerk Sampati Kadam demanded Rs 3,400 from the parent to register the student for SSC examination by filling up form number 17.
As per rules, the student has to pay Rs 1,000 and a fine of Rs 100 per day as delay charges while filling up the form, for which the accused allegedly demanded Rs 3,400, the release said.

The aggrieved parent filed a complaint with the Thane unit of the ACB which laid a trap and arrested the clerk accepting the money from the complainant without issuing any receipt, the release said.
They have been charged under Section 7, Section 12, Section 13(1)(D) and Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988, the release said.
An offence has been registered with the local police station the release said.
