Following a complaint by the mother of the LKG student, principal Mumtaz Ahmed who also runs the school, was arrested.
Ahmed allegedly hit the boy with a stick resulting in bruises on his back as a punishment for reportedly not attending the classes, Sananthnagar police said quoting the complainant.
Police has registered a case under 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC.
