A 35-year-old security guard has been bludgeoned to death allegedly by his neighbour following a scuffle between them in north Delhi's Sarai Rohilla area, police said today.

The accused Rohit has been arrested, they said.

Rohit and his female friend used to spend time inside the Nav Bharti School, where Pawan was posted as a security guard, police said.

Pawan had permitted the duo to meet inside the school premises since Rohit was his neighbour. Yesterday, the guard let the two inside, but around 9 PM he asked them to leave, they said.

Rohit allegedly lost his temper and picked up a fight with the guard. After his friend left the premises, Rohit allegedly smashed Pawan's head with a heavy stone and killed him on the spot, police said.

The accused fled from the spot and Pawan's body was discovered by another guard, who had come to the school for duty around 10.30 PM, they said.

He made a PCR call. Pawan's family was also informed about the incident.

Meanwhile, deceased's brother Rahul informed the police that he had seen Rohit around the school premises.

Police scanned the CCTV footage and zeroed in on Rohit who was nabbed from the area.
