The Class X student of Don Bosco at Silapathar in Dhemaji district was returning along with his classmates from an educational tour to New Delhi when he fell off the Sampark Kranti Express at Shantinagar under Dudhnoi police station.
The student, identified as Rituparna Hazarika, was the son of a police officer.
His body was sent for postmortem.
Train services were temporarlily affected in the section.
