With Congress retaining the Chitrakoot Assembly seat in a recent byelection, senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia today expressed confidence that the party will also retain Mungavali and Kolaras seats.

Byelections are due in Mungavali and Kolaras as the sitting MLAs -- Mahendra Singh Kalukheda and Ram Singh Yadav, respectively -- passed away recently.

"We will win both Mungavali and Kolaras despite the BJP trying all the tricks to snatch them from us," Scindia told reporters, when asked whether the ruling party would delay the bypolls as its defeat is almost certain in the two seats.

"The voters of both the seats are ready to teach a lesson to the BJP," Scindia said.

Addressing a party rally in Kolaras which saw an impressive turn-out, Scindia strongly criticised the state government for its 'anti-farmer policies' and called upon the people to overthrow the BJP from the state.
