Warner Brothers is eager to launch the animated cartoon franchise Scooby-Doo on big screen again.

After two live-action films, both of which were received negatively by critics, the studio is developing an animated flick with producers Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, reported Ace Showbiz.

Matt Lieberman has been tapped to write the script. Roven and Suckle have had history with the Hanna-Barbera character, having produced the live-action movies, 2002's "Scooby-Doo" and 2008's "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed".

No director is currently set to serve behind the lens. Jesse Ehrman is set to oversee the project for the studio, which is keeping the logline under wraps. No other information is available about the project yet.
