A two-member Scotland Yard team arrived here today to investigate the murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq in London in 2010.
Imran Farooq, 50, was stabbed to death outside his house and the British police has been trying to arrest the killers.
Pakistan has arrested at least three people who allegedly have been involved in the killing and British authorities have been seeking access to them.
Interior Ministry in a statement said that "a two-member team of Scotland Yard has arrived in Islamabad today" to probe the case.
The team is expected to question the suspects arrested by Pakistan.
Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan said in April that authorities arrested Moazzam Ali from Karachi who arranged funds and prepared travel documents of two students who allegedly committed the murder and escaped from Britain soon after it.
Two more men identified as Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim wanted in the murder case of Farooq were said to have been taken in custody from near the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman.
Imran Farooq was a senior member of MQM was on his way home from work when he was murdered on September 16, 2010 outside his London home.
A post-mortem examination found that he died from multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head.
Farooq claimed asylum in Britain in 1999.
He was wanted in Pakistan over many charges including torture and murder but always claimed the accusations were politically-motivated.
