Teenagers from a Scottish and an Indian group will perform together at a dance show here on March 30 as part of the British Council's year of culture celebrations.

The show, 'Teenage Times Remix Kolkata', is based on Scottish choreographer Christine Devaneys production

Teenage Trilogy, which was premiered in Scotland last month.

Along with Hendrik Lebon from Belgium, Devaney will work with 15 teenagers, three local dancers and a visual artist, a British Council statement said yesterday.

"Such collaborations help to deepen and broaden our mutual creative and learning experience by making something together which we can share across cultures, Devaney was quoted saying in the statement.

The collaboration between ThinkArts India and Curious Seed Scotland is supported by the British Council and Creative Scotland.

British Council (East and North-East) director Debanjan Chakrabarti said, "This year, as we celebrate 70 years of the British Council in India, we hope this Scotland-India collaboration will inspire young people in both countries to know each other better."

This performance, an extension of Devaneys previous workshop with ThinkArts in October 2017, was conceived on the basis of the "overwhelming response" received from the audience last year, the statement said.
