Dara Singh was apprehended from the plot of Ajay Bijli, the Chairman of PVR Ltd, in south Delhi's Vasant Vihar area three days ago.

Singh was apprehended while he was fleeing with the copper wire from the under construction building. The seized copper wire was valued at around Rs 1.5 lakh, DCP Chhaya Sharma said.

"Patrolling team intercepted one person at Olof Palme Marg who was carrying a big sack on his shoulders. During enquiry, he could not give any satisfactory reply about the copper wire he was carrying. Later he told police that he had stolen it," she said.

Singh, a scrap dealer who owns a shop in Indira Market on Olof Palme Marg, allegedly used to receive the stolen goods and later he himself started stealing goods from construction sites.
