Scrapped notes of Rs 7 cr face value seized from two persons

City police today seized demonetised currency notes with a face value of Rs 7 crore from two persons, including a production manager of a film company, here.

"Based on a tip-off, police searched the premises at Jubilee Hills and seized Rs 7 crore in old notes from two persons, including one Srinivas Rao, who is the production manager of a film company," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Limba Reddy said. The duo are being questioned, the DCP told PTI tonight.

When asked about the reports which claimed that Rao was related to a Tollywood actress, who owned the film company, the police officer said, "He is not related to her."
 

Further investigation is on.
