A Delhi-based Malayali journalist, B S Shiju, has been nominated in Congress' Kerala state executive committee by its chief V M Sudheeran today.

Party functionaries said this is perhaps for the first time that a full-time journalist is nominated in the apex body of KPCC which was once headed by top leaders like A K Antony, Vayalar Ravi and Ramesh Chennithala.

30-year-old Shiju is working as Delhi bureau chief of the party mouthpiece 'Veekshanam' and party channel Jai Hind.

He was recently elected as president of Delhi unit President of Kerala Union of Working Journalist (KUWJ).
