Scribe killed in road mishap

A journalist with a local daily was killed when an unknown speeding vehicle hit him here, police said.

Adiya Verma (32), who worked with a Hindi daily here, was returning home from his office on his motorcycle in the wee hours yesterday when a speeding vehicle coming from the opposite direction knocked him down at J K Road in Piplani area here, they said.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The deceased hailed from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh and was living here in a rented house in New Subhash Nagar area.

Police said they have registered a case in this regard and collected some evidence from the accident site to identify the killer vehicle.
