The ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) made a clean sweep of the Urban Local Bodies Election 2015 by winning all the 53 wards in all four districts in the state.
SDF won by a thumping margin in all the wards including the prestigious Gangtok Municipal Corporation from where the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor posts will be selected.
Counting throughout the state commenced from 8am this morning without any violence reported from all the four district headquarters.
The SDF had made a clean sweep in the first 2010 ULB elections where they won all 53 wards uncontested.
In this election the fight was between SDF and SKM (Sikkim Krantikari Morcha).
