Residents of South Delhi will now be able to lodge complaints about various civic issues using smartphones with the municipal corporation launching an initiative to ensure hassle-free redressal of grievances.
Standing Committee chairman of South Delhi Municipal Corporation Satish Upadhyay said the new grievance redressal system has been conceptualised to offer the citizens best possible response to their problems.
He said people will have to download the application SDMC Third Eye from Google Play Store and then they can send their grievances in the form of recorded videos, pictures and text messages to the municipal corporation.

"If garbage has not been lifted by MCD staff in an area or the roads are in bad shape, people can click picture and send it to us. The concerned department will then take immediate action," Upadhyay, who was recently appointed the Delhi BJP chief, said.
The SDMC will also place complaint registration boxes in various areas and offices so that people can file their complaint about any issue, including on corruption and irregularities.
"I will personally go through the complaints and take action if necessary," the Standing Committee chairman said.
He said the Chief Vigilance Officer of the SDMC has been told to take strict action against corruption.
"The new initiative will surely bring transparency and accountability in the administration of the corporation. We will be coming with some new initiatives in the future as well," he said.
Upadhyay said he was not considering stepping down from the post of Standing Committee chairperson after his appointment as Delhi BJP chief.
